As part of efforts to strengthen local production, Mr. Sifi Ghrib, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, oversaw the start of the trial phase of the “Kotama Agri Food” factory in Jijel, a subsidiary of Madar Holding.
This initiative is part of a national project built to international standards that aims to produce crude oil and animal feed, supporting food security and reducing dependence on imports. During the ceremony, the minister received detailed briefings on the production processes and observed the launch of initial trials.
The industrial complex includes multiple units for seed crushing and vegetable oil extraction, with an estimated capacity of 5,000 tonnes per day, consisting of 20 % vegetable oils and 80 % animal feed.
The project is expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment, providing a boost to the local economy and agricultural value chains.
