The Minister of Industry, Mr. Seifi Ghrieb, supervised the initial operational trials of the “KOTAMA AGRI FOOD” plant in Jijel, marking a significant milestone ahead of its official launch. The facility is a subsidiary of Madar Holding and forms part of a national strategy to strengthen domestic production.
During the visit, the minister toured the various production units and reviewed the technical testing phases. Detailed presentations were delivered by the engineering teams regarding the plant’s processing capacity and operational readiness.
The factory is expected to produce crude oil and animal feed, contributing to national food security and reducing reliance on imports. Located in Jijel, the project plays a strategic role in boosting regional industrial development.
The minister emphasized that the project aligns with the President’s directives to revitalize national industry and increase local added value. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
The plant is expected to begin full operations soon, generating direct and indirect employment opportunities while reinforcing Algeria’s industrial and agricultural sectors.
