Appointment of Mr. Amara Charaf‑Eddine as President of UNEP
Mr. Amara Charaf‑Eddine, CEO of Madar Holding, was elected on Thursday, March 12, 2023, as President of the National Union of Public Contractors (UNEP), during an Extraordinary General Assembly of the National Council. He received strong support from the assembly members present, with the attendance of the presidential advisor for economic affairs.
As UNEP president, Charaf‑Eddine plans to lead efforts for comprehensive reforms of public enterprises and foster constructive dialogue between public sector employers, institutions, and authorities.
Under his leadership, Madar Holding, a state-owned Algerian investment group active in agro-food, textiles, logistics, and strategic assets, has launched major initiatives like Tafadis sugar refinery, SINAATEC non-woven textile plant, Global Agri Food, and ICOSIA Capital.
